Doc: Thankyou sir.

Gaz: Similar tastes but Switchfoot are decent, but they aren't really legendary or worthy an entry in an "of all time" list.

Iain: I agree with what you said about the influences of older music into todays songs and albums, but I just don't "get" Elvis or Beatles. Their music makes me want to vomit, eat my own vomit, rip my stomach out, then each my own twice-digested vomit filled stomach.

Duncan: You really should try James out. I doubt you'd like The Cure (based on what music you listen to usually). Pet Shop Boys' "Where The Streets Have No Name" doesn't have the passion that Bono does in my opinion, but "It's A Sin" is a fantastic song.

Good call on some of them, The Cure are absolutely up there with me too, great, forgotten about scarily underrated influential band..

The Cure were "Emo" 20 years before it was invented, and tossers listen to shit like My chemical Romance and mention those bastards in the same breath, subjective my nihilistic fat behind.. to compare the two is moronic..

I'd also have Savage Gardens Affirmation in my top 10 ever.. but apart from Disintegration [Good call on their best album, defo agree], my list would also have Joshua Tree in..

My list would contain Guns N Roses, Bauhaus [OMFG GOTH ROFFLECOPTER], Stratovarius, RHCP, Foo's, Johnny Cash and others..

I'd count War of The Worlds in my album top 5, absolutely, it's magical.. and better than Nirvana..

Also..

You can't say the Beatles or Elvis are overrated, their influence is ridiculous, you move on to list The Verve and U2, both of which wouldn't exist without, and are clear as day influenced by the Beatles, as is music, both pop and independent, the new indie bands, White Stripes [shite I know but live with me here] are clearly Beatles influenced.. as are most I've seen by accident..

Good call with Cobain though, dead ginger moaning selfish bastard with a whore for a wife..

Well I agree with a few of them, I think Bat out of hell should be the best album ever though. Meatloaf is the god of music in my eyes, but personal opinions are all there. heres what my top 5 would be in no order

Meatloaf - Bat out of hell
Micheal Jackson - Thriller
Savage Garden - Affimination
Jeff Waynes - War of the worlds (if this counts)
Switchfoot - Meant to live (good album)

I know my options probs suck to most but please be aware I dont listen to much music these days :P

Great list! Since you have ranked some of the ones I agree with pretty high, it makes me want to go and check out the one that I haven't heard of. Thanks!
